Tatoo Expo in Blue Lake

1. Sabrina Thompson of Concord has her leg above the knee tattooed by Liz Venom, head artist and owner of Bombshell Tattoo Galerie in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The internationally-acclaimed tattoo artist joins a cadre of regional and national tattoo artists gathered for the Inked Hearts Tattoo Expo being held at the Blue Lake Casino and Hotel.

Jurassic Humboldt

Redwood Acres is the scene for a jumbo Jurassic journey with T-Rex Planet arriving in town through Monday with a one-of-a-kind screeching, kinetic, realistic and educational mix of dinosaurs packed into one huge auditorium. Dozens of the prehistoric creatures also have baby dinosaurs in proximity, a children's favorite.

Casting for Jack Smelt

Nakoa Davalos of Eureka throws out an 8-foot cast net into Humboldt Bay, a skill he learned in Hawaii. Davalos was casting for some Jack smelt and perch bait for future fishing off of the Bonnie Gool Dock near the amphitheater.

Kneeland Snow

The first measurable snow of the 2018 winter fell in February 2018. This is near the Kneeland Post Office.

Josiah Lawson Film Release

After a showing of a film made regarding the murder of HSU student Josiah Lawson, Sarah Lindgren-Akana relates her life experience raised as part of the Yurok tribe in Humboldt County. Varoius speakers spoke of their personal experiences dealing with hate and bigotry on the North Coast
