More than 200 union members and their families gathered under the soft smell of smoky-barbecue and redwoods as the Humboldt & Del Norte Central Labor Councils hosted their annual union barbecue with all the fixings. Sequoia Park in Eureka framed political speeches and elected officials mixed it up with pipe-fitters, nurses, teachers, service industry personnel, welders, heavy equipment operators, truck drivers and other unionized occupations to celebrate the accomplishments of labor over the decades.
