"Zamba" by Samba da Alegria framed the start of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on the Arcata Plaza. Dia de los Muertos is a custom that is celebrated in many Latino countries, and increasingly in the United States, meant to honor those that have died by celebrating their memories with food offerings, flowers and music.
